Job Overview

We are seeking a Cryptocurrency Analyst with expertise in financial investigations, blockchain analytics, or technical data analysis. The role involves researching digital assets, identifying illicit financial activities, and developing analytical tools to improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth analysis of cryptocurrency transactions and blockchain networks.
• Identify financial crime risks, including money laundering and sanctions evasion.
• Develop tools and processes to enhance operational effectiveness.
• Uncover intelligence from large datasets and blockchain activity.
• Collaborate with financial, intelligence, and cybersecurity teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates should have expertise in one or more of the following:

Technical Expertise:

• Experience with Python, scripting, regex, and pattern matching.
• Proficiency in blockchain explorers (Chainalysis Reactor, TRM, CipherTrace).
• Knowledge of blockchain protocols, smart contracts, and cryptographic principles.

Financial Investigations:

• Understanding of AML regulations (FATF, KYC, forensic accounting).
• Knowledge of SWIFT, ACH, and payment service providers (PayPal, Payoneer).
• Experience tracing cryptocurrency laundering methods (mixers, peel chains, darknet markets).

Blockchain & Cryptocurrency:

• Understanding of wallet types (custodial, non-custodial, hardware, software).
• Knowledge of crypto exchanges (centralized vs. decentralized, OTC trading).
• Familiarity with proof-of-work vs. proof-of-stake mining models.
