Job Description
Durity is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Junior US Accountant who has experience working with US clients and is proficient in Zoho Books and QuickBooks. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing and overseeing client financial activities, ensuring compliance with US accounting standards, and providing accurate financial insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
- Handle payroll processing and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Reconcile bank statements to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Utilize Zoho Books and QuickBooks for bookkeeping, reporting, and financial management.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Collect and maintain W-9 forms from vendors and contractors to ensure compliance.
- Track payments to eligible contractors and prepare 1099 forms at year-end as per IRS requirements.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants during audits and tax filing processes.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve business operations and profitability.
Skills & Experience Required
- Education: LLB (Bachelor of Laws) or LLM (Master of Laws).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in US accounting.
- Proficiency in Zoho Books and QuickBooks is a must.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with other financial tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- CPA certification is a plus (not mandatory).
