About the Role

Coinbase is seeking a Data Scientist to support its mission of increasing global economic freedom by leveraging data to guide product development, improve decision-making, and optimize user experience across its platform.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to develop analytical frameworks and actionable insights
• Design and analyze A/B experiments and other causal inference methods
• Build and maintain dashboards and reporting systems for key business metrics
• Conduct deep-dive analyses to uncover growth and product improvement opportunities
• Create data pipelines and ensure high data quality across projects
• Communicate findings and strategic recommendations clearly to stakeholders, including senior leadership

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in a quantitative field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or PhD with 2+ years
• Strong command of SQL and Python for data analysis and modeling
• Experience with experimentation, causal inference, and/or machine learning
• Proven ability to lead complex analytical projects
• Excellent communication skills and alignment with Coinbase’s core values: clear communication, positive energy, continuous learning, and efficient execution

Nice to Have

• Data engineering experience or willingness to support data infrastructure as needed

Compensation

CAD $149,500 annual base salary + bonus + equity + benefits
