📍 Location: Remote | 💰 Salary: $80,728 - $90,819 per year | 🕒 Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role
The GARE Network Community Manager will play a pivotal role in fostering engagement and strengthening relationships within the Government Alliance on Race and Equity (GARE) Online Community—a dynamic space where 15,000+ racial equity practitioners in government collaborate, share ideas, and drive systemic change.
In this role, you will be a network weaver, connecting members, facilitating discussions, organizing events, and developing engagement strategies. You’ll work closely with practitioners, government leaders, and Race Forward staff to create a thriving and impactful online community.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Community Engagement & Strategy
- Cultivate relationships with racial equity practitioners, fostering meaningful connections through the GARE Online Community.
- Develop and execute engagement strategies that promote participation and collaboration.
- Identify key influencers and thought leaders, curating discussions and amplifying impactful work.
- Support facilitation and technical needs for Network Groups and Exchanges.
🔹 Content & Program Development
- Design and implement campaigns to encourage user participation.
- Organize virtual and in-person events that strengthen the network.
- Elevate key topics and trends, ensuring members have access to relevant resources and conversations.
- Develop curation strategies to compile and share user-generated content, creating resource libraries and best practice guides.
🔹 Platform & Technology Management
- Manage the GARE Online Community platform (Higher Logic Thrive), ensuring it remains an effective hub for engagement.
- Utilize data-driven insights to refine community engagement strategies.
- Support content moderation, uphold community values, and ensure a welcoming online environment.
🔹 Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong partnerships with internal teams, external partners, and community members.
- Align online engagement strategies with Race Forward’s broader communications and racial equity initiatives.
- Lead cross-departmental projects to enhance onboarding and user engagement.

Qualifications & Experience
📌 Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in community management, online engagement, project management, or digital organizing.
- Experience managing online communities, preferably for social impact networks, nonprofits, or government organizations.
- Familiarity with racial justice, government policy, and institutional culture change is a plus.
📌 Skills & Tools:
- Experience with Higher Logic Thrive or similar community engagement platforms.
- Strong understanding of CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).
- Ability to analyze data to improve engagement strategies.
