$80,000 – $105,000 annually
Annual performance bonus based on individual and company performance
Role Summary:
The Revenue Accountant is responsible for managing revenue recognition for North American customers in compliance with ASC 606/IFRS 15 and internal policies. The position requires close collaboration with Sales, Legal,
and Operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and support business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review contracts, billing terms, and sales orders for proper revenue recognition
- Prepare and post journal entries related to revenue and deferred revenue
- Reconcile revenue accounts including accounts receivable and unbilled revenue
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Partner with Sales and Legal to assess contract compliance and pricing models
- Educate teams on revenue recognition policies and contract structures
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing schedules and analyses
- Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and policy adherence
- Peer-review invoices and participate in compliance monitoring
Requirements:
Must-Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CPA-track preferred)
- 2–5 years of professional accounting experience with revenue exposure
- Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS and ASC 606
- Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Must live within commuting distance to downtown Chicago
Preferred:
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)
- Familiarity with Salesforce, iCertis, Zuora, PeopleSoft, Tableau
- Background in data analysis or process automation
- Experience in working with cross-functional global teams
