We’re looking for a self-motivated, experienced Senior Account Executive to join our team and scale our success in Europe. In this pivotal role, you’ll help shape the future of B2B and consumer payments while working with fintech innovators and market disruptors in the crypto space.
What You'll Do
As Marqeta’s Senior Account Executive, you will play a critical role in cultivating and managing relationships with executives and entrepreneurs in the fintech ecosystem. You’ll help lead the charge in scaling our embedded finance solutions across Europe, closing impactful deals, and supporting customers on their digital payments journeys.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cultivate Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with C-suite executives and key stakeholders in B2B payments, blockchain technology, and crypto solutions, helping them innovate and disrupt the traditional financial landscape.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Legal, Compliance, and Delivery to define solutions that meet customer needs, particularly in the evolving DeFi and NFT sectors.
- Drive Revenue Growth: Identify, qualify, and close new customer opportunities by helping businesses in the crypto, blockchain, and payments sectors scale their financial products.
- Manage Sales Process: From lead generation to contract negotiation, manage the entire sales process. You’ll work in Salesforce to track opportunities, model projections, and secure the right internal approvals to close deals.
- Tech Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of Marqeta’s technology platform and how it integrates with customer needs in digital finance, smart contracts, and cryptocurrency.
- Position Marqeta's Value: Effectively communicate the benefits of Marqeta’s platform, showcasing its flexibility and ability to help clients innovate within the payments and blockchain ecosystems.
Who You Are
- Experienced: 8+ years of experience in sales, partnerships, or business development, preferably in the payments, investment banking, or strategic consulting space. A background in fintech, blockchain, or crypto is highly desirable.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiar with the payments ecosystem and ideally, knowledgeable about issuing side payments. Bonus points for blockchain, cryptocurrency, or DeFi expertise.
- Confident: Able to serve as the face of Marqeta for prospective customers and partners, with the ability to engage with senior executives and entrepreneurs in the B2B and consumer payments space.
- Financial Acumen: Comfortable evaluating customer proposals and modeling financial contracts, particularly in complex deal structures related to embedded finance and payments.
- Team-Oriented: A natural collaborator who works well with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions for clients, including legal, tech, and product teams.
- Self-Starter: Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in parallel, while driving results against aggressive sales targets.
