Role Overview

This is a highly technical, hands-on role combining Security Engineering and Product Development. You'll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining security-focused features and systems that integrate directly with BitMEX's trading and infrastructure platforms. You will work closely with internal engineering teams to implement security-by-design principles across all stages of development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy security-driven features & internal applications
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define secure architecture and integrate mitigations
• Evaluate, prototype, and maintain security tools and services
• Stay updated on evolving security threats and best practices
• Document security architecture (principles, requirements, test scopes, go-live criteria)
• Provide technical leadership on secure coding and infrastructure hardening

Qualifications

• 15+ years of total experience, including 8+ years as a software developer
• Proficient in building and securing APIs (REST & WebSocket)
• Strong understanding of network security architecture
• Expertise in at least some of these: PKI, cryptography, anti-abuse systems, web app security, memory corruption protections
• Hands-on experience with:
• Kubernetes / Ansible / Chef
• Programming languages such as Python, Golang, C, or NodeJS
• Comfortable with fast-paced fintech or crypto environments
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Self-starter capable of managing priorities independently
